We are seeking four experienced drivers to join our team in the bus industry. This role requires D or D1 licences and offers a chance to contribute to a dynamic and customer-focused service. The position is full-time and ongoing, with a start date of 30th November 2024. The is a brand new DRT service on behalf of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. Your job will be driving 16 seater low floor minibuses, following the map and picking and dropping off passengers.

This is a guaranteed 1 year bus service (likely will be 3 years with extensions), with guaranteed weekly hours of 35-40.

Responsibilities

As a valued member of our transport team, you will be responsible for safely operating vehicles, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers, and maintaining a high level of customer service. You will also be expected to adhere to all relevant safety regulations and procedures. Flexibility in shift availability may be required to meet the service demands. Helping passengers on / off the bus when required.

Skills

Prospective candidates must possess a valid D1 or D licence and demonstrate a strong understanding of road safety and transport regulations. Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach are essential. Prior experience in a similar role within the bus industry is highly advantageous. Requires Enhanced DBS.

Ad Hoc Delivery Driver – Van Driver

📍 Location: Flexible/Various Routes

⏰ Start Time: 3:00 AM

DAY RATE = £72 (4/5 hours work on average)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Completing 12-16 drops per shift.
• Transporting trays of bread weighing between 2kg - 15kg.
• Collecting empty trays at delivery points and returning them to the depot.
• Covering 75+ miles per day.
• Routes typically take 4-5.5 hours once you’re familiar with them.
• Providing reliable, professional delivery services on an ad hoc basis.

How It Works:

• Route requirements are notified between 5 PM - 7 PM the day before.
• We’ll advertise routes to you as soon as they become available.
• If you share your weekly availability at the start of the week, it helps us assign you more work.

Support and Training:

• Training provided: One of our team members will accompany you for the first couple of shifts to ensure you’re fully trained on our procedures and methods.
• Always available: Our team is just a phone call away to assist with deliveries, provide additional information, or resolve issues at delivery points.

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Minimum 2 years of delivery experience.

✅ Early riser ready for 3 AM starts.

✅ Physically fit and able to handle trays weighing up to 15kg.

Compensation:

• Routes are paid at a flat rate based on the time they take to complete (4-5.5 hours).
