We're a seasoned team with over 50 years of collective experience in the transportation industry. From enhancing bus services to creating innovative mobility apps, we've tackled numerous challenges in transport. Through these ventures, we experienced firsthand the biggest challenge facing our industry: driver shortages. Without significant action, the shortage of drivers is projected to double by 2028. This shortage has put immense pressure on recruitment agencies to find suitable candidates quickly, often leading to compromises in the recruitment process.
Many recruitment agencies are criticised for not adequately vetting or training drivers before placing them in jobs. This can result in a mismatch between the drivers' skills and the job requirements, leading to safety and efficiency concerns.
Many drivers are paid low wages, which does not reflect the demanding nature of their work. Recruitment agencies are sometimes blamed for not advocating better conditions and pay for their drivers.
High turnover rates are common in the driving industry. Recruitment agencies often struggle to retain drivers due to the aforementioned poor working conditions and low pay. This creates a cycle of constant recruitment without addressing the underlying issues. Drivers often report a lack of communication and support from recruitment agencies once they are placed in a job. This can lead to feelings of isolation and frustration, further contributing to high turnover rates.
At DrivenPeople we are not just building a recruitment app, we are building a community. We started by speaking with numerous transport operators and hundreds of drivers to gather their feedback. Using this valuable input, we designed an app tailored to their needs, aiming to solve the driver shortage crisis and improve the industry for everyone involved.
We have implemented strict processes to ensure all drivers and operators are compliant and accountable. We undertake all necessary compliance checks and allow both the driver and the operator to rate one another after each completed job.
DrivenPeople operates on a peer-to-peer model, which eliminates the need to employ traditional recruitment agents and significantly reduces operational costs. By leveraging technology and direct connections between drivers and employers, we can pass these savings on to our drivers and operators. As a result, we offer fees that are, on average, 50% lower than those charged by conventional recruitment agencies.
DrivenPeople empowers drivers by allowing them to choose the jobs they want, providing greater flexibility to work according to their preferences and schedules. This enhances job satisfaction and promotes a healthier work-life balance, which is crucial in an industry known for demanding hours.
