Taking a look back on events ahead of the haulage peak season
As we head into the peak season for HGV and courier drivers, we wanted to take a moment to look back at TruckFest 2024 and our experiences attending some of the trucking industry's biggest events this year.
As Europe’s largest trucking festival since 1983, TruckFest is brought together by industry leaders, drivers and trucking enthusiasts to celebrate the world of trucking, and we were delighted to engage with such a passionate community when we visited the festival in Lincoln, West Midlands and South East.
From seasoned veterans and industry professionals to aspiring drivers, it was a pleasure to connect with so many individuals across the different events who share our enthusiasm for the trucking industry. By engaging in conversations and listening to their challenges, we gained valuable insights into the pain points they face during peak season and how our hard work at DrivenPeople will impact the industry for the better.
A common theme that emerged was the difficulty of recruiting and retaining skilled drivers. As the demand for transportation services surges, especially during peak seasons, finding qualified drivers to meet the increased workload can become challenging. With this knowledge, we've been working diligently to build a robust driver base. To date, over 10,000 drivers have downloaded our app, positioning us to effectively handle the peak season demand. Our platform empowers drivers by providing them with flexible work opportunities and a user-friendly experience.
By connecting drivers with transport operators directly, we aim to alleviate the pressure on the peak courier season and ensure a smooth and efficient delivery process.
One of the highlights of TruckFest was witnessing the incredible talent on our state-of-the-art truck driving simulator. Visitors had the chance to test their skills and compete for a cash prize to be the ultimate driving champion. The simulator was a huge hit, and the sheer volume of talent meant we were thrilled to give away over £500 in prizes to our top drivers.
We're already looking forward to next year's TruckFest, where we hope to continue connecting with industry professionals and showcasing our innovative solutions.
